Flikr is a program that allows photographs to be "uploaded" to it so other people can see them. It allows numerous photographs to be sorted and stored for easy viewing.
2) Can anybody view the photgraphs?
Yes anybody with internet access can view the photographs held for Romsey Road Runners.
3) Do I need any special programs on my computer?
No - you only need the program you normally use to surf the web, such as Internet Explorer, Mozilla, Safari, Opera etc.
4) What are collections and sets?
Collections are a broad term that covers a subject, and these collections are further sub-divided into sets. When you first go to the RRRWebmaster Photostream Flikr Page are are faced with several "Collections" such as CC6 League, Races, Social Events etc. These are shown as a mosaic of several small pictures.
Click into any "Collection" and you are presented with further "Collections" such as years. Inside these are the "Sets" that hold the individual photographs. Basically its just a big filing system.
5) Do I need to create an account with log-in's and passwords?
No, you just need to surf to the page and view it as if you were just browsing the internet.
6) How can I download a photograph I like?
Just browse to the photograph you want to download, then the cursor should change to a magnifying glass if you hover over the photograph. Click the picture and then the screen should go black with the picture in the center. Then you need to click a button found in the top right hand corner marked as "View all sizes", as below.
Once you do this you come to a page marked "Photo/All sizes". Just click the size you want and then click where it says download, as below.....
A box will then appear asking you to either open it with a selected program, or to save it. Choose save and then select where on your hard drive you want it to go.
7) Can I upload my own photographs?
Alas no this is reserved only for the admins.
