Circuits

Romsey Road Runner's holds a circuit training class on Friday evenings at Romsey School from 6.30-7.30pm. They are taken by Mark Adams, who has several years' experience as a circuit-training instructor and holds the YMCA Level 1 and Level 2 Gym Instructor qualifications, and YMCA Circuit Training Instructor qualification.
Circuit training can form a valuable part of any runners or triathlete's training programme by helping to build core, upper body and leg strength. Gaining all-over body strength aids efficiency by helping you to maintain good posture, improving leg power and reducing the chance of over-use injuries.

The classes focus on core strength rather than cardiovascular exercise, which anyone running regularly will already be getting plenty of. Each class involves two or three circuits, with a total of 45 to 50 stations. These can include weights, stability-ball exercises, and core, bench and body-weight exercises.

The classes are suitable for all abilities and fitness levels, and take place in a supportive, encouraging and social environment. The cost is just £3 per session.
