'Paul and Irisha Cross, who joined Romsey Road Runners earlier this year, are flying! They both achieved personal best times twice in three days last week at two different distances. In the first race of the Boscombe 5K Series held last Friday evening, Paul finished in 20:44 and Irisha in 22:17. In the Hoburne Park 5 Mile at Christchurch on Sunday, Paul finished in 20:46 and Irisha in 22:05.
The Boscombe 5K is a winter series of six 'there and back' races between the two piers along Bournemouth seafront. Iain Cross, who is taking part in the series for the second time, finished in 17:26 and Heidi Williams enjoyed the unusually perfect conditions finishing in 22:35.
Other results in the Hoburne Park 5 Mile were Iain Cross 29:16, Heidi Williams 38:37 and Liz Slade 41:10.
In the Solent Half Marathon, over 300 runners enjoyed an excellent run through the New Forest and by the Solent at Lepe. Jane Field finished in 1:39:47 and Alistair Longworth in 1:45:00. Jane now lies in 7th place in the Individual Ladies section of the Hampshire Road Race League.
Romsey Road Runners don't always spend their time running and Chairman Raymond Masters is organising one of his popular undulating walks this Saturday down in the beautiful Purbeck hills in Dorset, starting and ending at the abandoned village of Tyneham.
Other members are also looking forward to a football match
against rival club Halterworth Harriers this Sunday at Mountbatten School.
Chris Lane has been busy getting the team together and many other members
will be popping along to cheer on the blue and yellow vests!
