'After a week spent recovering from footballing efforts of the previous weekend's match against Halterworth Harriers, it was back to the serious business of running for the Romsey Road Runners and the first of the CC6 winter cross country series at Denny Wood in the New Forest.

A very pleasing 15 ladies and 8 men turned out last Sunday on a cold but calm and sunny morning. This made for almost perfect running conditions and the ladies team of Lynne Whitaker (3rd), Jane Field (10th) and Angie Stuckey (14th) ensured an outstanding third place overall, with the men's team of Chris Brown (13th), Jim Wright (48th), Paul Bradley (49th), Paul Cross (53rd) and David Page (54th) finishing in 8th place.

Many other members had a good race and it was lovely to see some new members running in club colours for the first time.
