Dear Sports Editor

'Nearly 900 runners took part in this year's 'New Forest 10' at New Park Farm, Brockenhurst. A 10 mile course over road and forest track saw members of Romsey Road Runners bring in some very impressive times. Charlote Maslen, who is improving with every race she completes in at present, achieved a personal best time of 1:30:44 and other results were as follows: Angie Stuckey 1:15:52, Penny Jennings 1:17:45, Tamantha Ryan 1:18:14, Alistair Longworth 1:21:45, Steve Davies 1:23:04, Steve Edwards 1:26:11.

Kerry Williams, who is in training for her first marathon in September, completed the Wycombe Half Marathon in 2 hours 3 minutes.

The seventh race of this year's summer RR10 Cross Country Series took place at Manor Farm Country Park and, despite a fairly low field, Romsey Road Runners were out in force, 13 runners achieving their best positions of the series so far. The ladies managed to field three teams finishing in 6th, 13th and 21st place. Results: Men: Iain Cross 11, David Barrett 19, Nick Berryman 41, Chris Brown 55, David Page, 102, Andrew Archibald 103, Steve Davies 107, Paul Cross, 110, Derek Kelly 144, David Nixon 158. Ladies: Jane Field 14, Tamantha Ryan 16, Penny Jennings 18, Irisha Cross 26, Heidi Williams 31, Charlotte Maslen 50, Anna Duignan 59, Ruth Page 63, Wendy Couper 65.
