'Lynne Whitaker of Romsey Road Runners was 3rd lady finisher in the undulating Ropley 10K Road Race on Sunday. Starting from St. Peter's Church, the route takes in the local countryside, challenging participants' stamina as they encounter the delights of the rolling hills in this beautiful part of Hampshire. The course included three inclines, two of which are quite extreme. Andrea Markham was pleased to finish in just over 52 minutes; Charlotte Maslen, Kate Clements and Michelle Shaw also took part. Final results have yet to be published.

The previous Wednesday saw another excellent turn out by the blue and yellow vests in the third RR10 Cross Country run of the summer at Wilverley Inclosure, Sway. Matt Hammerton's position improved once again as he finished 4th out of 182 men. Although the field was slightly down on the previous two, there were some huge improvements by Romsey Road Runners; David Page came home 65 places higher in 118th, Peter Ide 35 places up in 153rd and Emma Hammerton improved by 37 places on last time to finish 58th lady. Heidi Williams was the only Romsey Road Runner to complete in in this year's Southampton 10K 'Run in the Park' at Royal Victoria Country Park at Netley. In very warm conditions, Heidi completed the race in 50:15 and came 38th lady in a field of 136.
