'Romsey Road Runners' ladies team of Lynne Whitaker 6th (pictured), Jane Field (12th) and Angie Stuckey (15th), ran away with 1st prize at the Romsey 5 Mile Road Race last Sunday with the 'B' and 'C' teams also finishing in the top ten. A beautiful, sunny and calm morning greeted more than 600 runners for this fast, 1-lap race round the Cupernham area of the town. An excellent turn out by Romsey Road Runners saw eight members achieving personal best times including Lynne Whitaker who ran a superb race to finish in 32:35 and 2nd in her age category. Nick Berryman also ran a great race in 31:24, beating his previous PB by a minute and a half. Other ladies achieving personal best times were Liz Slade 39:32, Sarah Thorn 40:19, Anna Duignan 43:02, Charlotte Maslen 43:05, Anna Johnson 44:46, Michelle Shaw 44:47. Tamatha Ryan decided to take on the challenging Stonehenge Stomp as part of her London Marathon training and completed the 30K distance in 2 hours 50 minutes. David and Ruth Page took the event at a more sociable pace, finishing the 20K event in around 2 hours 30 minutes.
