'The Eastleigh 10K is always a sell-out, mainly due to the
possibility of setting fast times. Six out of 16 Romsey Road Runners achieved
this on Sunday, despite wet and windy conditions. Lynne Whitaker is making
a habit of winning her age category and this time in a personal best 41:06.
Other members achieving personal best times were Paul Cross 44:23, Irisha
Cross 45:12, Stephen Edwards 46:17, Sarah Thorn 49:34 and Jo Slade 51:46.

Kelly 51:34, Liz Slade 51:37, Kate Clements 65:26. Although, quagmire conditions
prevailed at the finish, runners were more than happy to queue for the very
welcome fruit cake, juice drinks and bananas being given out by friendly volunteers.
On a very popular day for running events, London marathon trainees Tam Ryan and Carol Brunner took part in the Cranleigh 21 mile, both finishing in excellent times, Tam in 2 hours 54 and Carol in 3:31.
In the scenic Sherbourne Castle 10k on the same day, Anna Duignan finished 2nd in her age category in 59:30 and Wendy Couper came 4th in the same group in 60:23.
In the Bath Half Marathon, which is surprisingly flat given the lie of the city, Jane Field finished in 1 hour 37 minutes and Emily Abab in 2:09 which was 20 minutes faster than her time in last year's event.
Stephen Reed ran in the Fleet Half Marathon and finished in 1:32, a personal best time by 5 minutes.
The previous weekend saw the first ever Salisbury 10 Miles
and Andrea Markham was very pleased with her time of 1:25:53.
