'The fourth of the RR10 Cross Country series
came just one week after the previous one with another race at Deerleap in
the New Forest. Matt Hammerton of Romsey Road Runners surpassed himself again,
this time finishing 2nd in a field of 195 men. Jim Wright (46), Alistair Longworth
(95) and Paul Slaughter (159) also achieved their best positions of the season
so far. The ladies met strong opposition from other clubs with Lynne Whitaker
the first Romsey lady home in 14th. Julia Abab (41), Emma Hammerton (56) and
Ruth Page (85) were pleased with their best results of the summer so far.

Wendy Couper of Romsey Road Runners competed in the Wimborne Triathlon last
Sunday and finished in a very impressive 77 minutes 22 seconds.
The previous weekend saw Tamatha Ryan run the Pewsey 10K in 45:45, finishing
3rd lady in her age category and 5th lady overall.
On the same day Nick Saunders finished the Ropley 10K in exactly 43 minutes
and Penny Jennings in 46:55.
Members are now looking forward to hosting the annual Braishfield 5 Mile Beer
Race taking place on Sunday 15 June at 10.30am. The race starts at Braishfield
Cricket Ground and finishes at the Village Hall. Treat your dad on Fathers'
Day to an entry into this popular event with a free beer or soft drink at
the finish! Research shows that a small beer after a race is good for you!
It rehydrates the body quicker than water, and is full of carbohydrates.
