'Nine Romsey Road Runners completed in the
challenging but enjoyable Lordshill 10K Road Race last Sunday. Alistair Longworth
was the first Romsey runner home in 43.47 and Penny Jennings came 10th lady
and 3rd in her age category in 47.23. Other Results: Paul Bradley 44.52, Paul
Cross 46.35, Irisha Cross 49.03, Paul Goodman 52.10, Heidi Williams 53.06,
Michelle Shaw 60.05, Sarah Thorn 60.23.
In the 6th of the summer's RR10 Cross Country series at Blackfield, Matt Hammerton
had another excellent race finishing 2nd for the third race in a row. Jim
Wright was the next best placed Romsey runner in 46th place, his joint best
of the season. Mark Adams 48, Ian Ralph 68, Steve Reed 73, Alistair Longworth
85, Steve Edwards 94, Paul Cutbill 103, Andrew Archibald 105, David Page 106,
Greg Roulston 116, Paul Cross 123, Paul Slaughter 127 and Derek Kelly 137
all achieved their best positions of the season so far. In a strong field
of 127 ladies, with some fast runners from other clubs taking part for the
first time, high positions were difficult to come by although Anna Duignan
finished 16 places higher than her previous best in 88th. Other Results: Jane

Anna Duignan was also in action the previous Wednesday evening, finishing
the Copythorne 10K in 53.38.
