'Twelve Romsey Road Runners took part in the second Hursley 10K Cross Country last Sunday, in perfect conditions; sunny with a slight chill in the air and even the muddy bits were mostly dry! A wonderfully warm welcome from the organisers included free bananas, two water stations on the course and a medal at the end. Derek Kelly achieved a personal best time for a 10K cross country finishing in 54:16. Other Results: Jane Field 47:51, Penny Jennings 48:32, Paul Cutbill 49:26, Mary Corbett 49:45, John Fahey 50:29, Steve Davies 52:37, Andrea Markham 53:41, Liz Slade 53:41, Charlotte Maslen 56:43, Ruth Page 60:52, Paul Bradley 60:53.

On the same day, Alistair Longworth achieved a personal best time of 34:10 in the very friendly Littledown 5 Mile. Starting and finishing at Littledown Leisure Centre, the course is slightly undulating, has plenty of twists and turns, a few road junctions to negotiate and a welcome downhill finish.

Romsey Road Runners will be out in force this weekend for the Clarendon Way Half Marathon and one brave member, Charlotte Maslen, is taking part in the full marathon from Salisbury to Winchester.
