'The Lordshill 10 Mile road race attracted
a very strong field as it was both a Hampshire Road Race League and a Hampshire
10 Mile Championship event. The route is excellent for personal best times
and six Romsey Road Runners achieved this. Alistair Longworth is flying at
present and finished in 1:07:32, his second PB in two weeks. Close behind
was Lynne Whitaker (1:08:11) who shaved a few seconds off her PB and came
2nd lady V45. Steve Reed finished in 1:08:54 and Steve Edwards in 1:14:05.
Lynda Brown, in her first race for the club, broke the 1 hour 20 minutes barrier,
finishing in 1:19:07 and Liz Slade achieved her third PB in as many weeks,
finishing in 1:23:22.
Nick Saunders also had a great run and was the first Club runner home in 1:04:38.
