The RR10 league is now truly underway, with three of the ten fixtures already completed, and excellent turnouts from the Romsey Road Runners at each. The popular races are held on Wednesday evenings through the summer months and are hosted in turn by the various West-Hampshire running clubs involved. You have to be a club member to run but as entry is free and open to all abilities, its no wonder there have been well over 300 runners at each so far.

Romsey continues to turn out in force with around 30 runners taking part in the last two races held at Ashurst and Sway, creating four team finishes in both the men and women’s tables. Matt Hammerton continues to lead the men home coming 3rd and 4th respectively, and Jimmy Hunt in his first year running RR10’s put in performances earning him 20th and 22nd placings out of a field of over 200 men at each. New member, Ben Balideri, also ran a great first race at Sway finishing 86th. Several members saw a great improvement in their placings over the two races including Ali Longworth, Andrew Archibald , Paul Slaughter and Ian Whyton all moving up 30 places, and.

For the ladies, Amanda Hull has continued her impressive debut season finishing in the top 6 of each race so far, with Tam Ryan, Emily Toone and Jane Field finishing in the top 31 in their first race of the series. The ladies A and B teams are now positioned joint 6th and 15th respectively, whilst the men’s A and B teams claim 10th and 21st overall. The series continues on 3rd June.
