Romsey Road Runners achieved its best result of the 08/09 CC6 Cross Country League series with the Ladies team taking 1st place and the Men’s team taking 3rd place. Despite the sub-zero temperature and frozen ground, 16 runners from the club turned out to take part in the 4th race of the series which took place at Badger Farm on Sunday. New to the CC6 races, Amanda Hull and Lynda Brown came 4th and 7th ladies respectively out of 34 taking part, and Jimmy Hunt came 18th in a field of 84 men. These excellent results put Romsey Road Runners in third place of the combined team trophy with two races to go.

Meanwhile, Tamatha Ryan competed at the Longmoor Lollop held at Bordon on Sunday. The 13 mile off-road race is classified as ‘hard and hilly’ and comprised 3 laps over a mixture of mud and sand surfaces. Tamatha achieved an excellent time of 1hour 52 and was 3rd lady to finish.
