The Hampshire village of Bordon was once again home to the Saab Salomon Turbo X on Sunday, part of the trail running series renowned for its challenging terrain. The Turbo X events are the muddiest of them all, with waist-deep bogs and terrain ranging from sand to marsh to water. Four Romsey Road Runners took part in the 10 mile event with great results. Ian Ralph was fastest to complete the course for the club in a gruelling 1:32:55, closely followed by Tamatha Ryan, a regular Turbo X runner, who achieved 14th lady overall in 1:37:29. Lynda Brown also achieved the placing of 39th lady overall in 1:49:55 with Hazel Smith finishing the tough course in 2:19:47.

Wendy Couper was also competing on Sunday at the Castle Combe Duathlon. The event involved a 2 mile run followed by a 10 mile cycle and a further 2 mile run, taking laps around the Castle Combe race circuit. Couper enjoyed the well organised event despite the windy conditions, and finished in a total time of 81:15 earning her first place in her age group.
