Club Weekend Away
This year (2012) our annual weekend away will be in Sussex, centring around the Endurancelife event taking place near Eastbourne on Saturday 24th March. The idea is to travel down on the Friday in time for dinner, race on Saturday and return on Sunday, probably stopping en route to enjoy a scenic walk. As Sussex is relatively close, club members could opt to drive down on the day for the race and either return or stay for just one night. Partners are, as ever, more than welcome to join us.
Endurancelife offer a choice of 10k, half marathon, marathon or ultra courses. We are asking runners to enter for themselves, as it is necessary to register before entering and only one entry can be made per email address - which makes a group booking tricky! The races are filling up fast, so please enter as soon as possible if you want to take part. Enter at www.endurancelife.com using the code SRC87 at the checkout - this is our unique code and it entitles RRR members to a 15% discount on the entry fee.
Accommodation-wise, we will probably book the Lansdowne Hotel Best Western in Eastbourne. (Doubles from about £90 per room per night + breakfast; singles from £45 - prices to be confirmed asap).
Get Moving....It's 2012!!!
Now's the time to exercise some self-control and burn calories rather than consume them. So please join us on New Year's Day for the first run of 2012!
We'll be meeting at the Bear & Ragged Staff at Stonymarsh (on the
A3057 between Timsbury and Brook). Please use the car park to the far left of the pub (as you face it) and be ready to start at 1030. The run, skilfully mapped by David Page, will consist of a scenic 6-mile loop around the local villages and is mainly off-road.
We also have a table for 12 reserved for lunch afterwards. Feel free just to do the run, but if you are staying on please let one of the Social Secs know - partners welcome, too.

Evening Dinner and Dance 2011
We are delighted to confirm that our Annual Awards Night 2011 will be held on Friday 18th November at The White Horse Hotel (Market Place, Romsey).
In addition to the presentation of the
club’s annual awards, there will be a three-course set meal (detailed
below, drinks not included) served in the Brasserie followed by dancing
to popular party band May Contain Nuts. Tickets are priced at £22.50
each.
Numbers are limited, so please book early to avoid disappointment.
We will meet in the bar from 7pm, and will be seated promptly at 7.30pm. Dinner will be followed by the Awards Ceremony and dancing, the evening finishing at midnight. So dust off those party clothes and come and join us!
If anyone wants to make a night of it, the hotel is offering rooms for the discounted rate of £105, including full English breakfast.

PASTA
PARTY 2011
This years Pasta Party will be on Tuesday 12th of April at Ruscello Restaurant, Broadwater Rd, Romsey.
There’ll be a set menu, at a special price of just £10 per head for two courses (drinks,
desserts and coffee can be ordered and paid for separately on the night)..
