Who are we? Romsey Road Runners is an amateur running club, open to all runners who are aged 15 years and over. We offer a programme of training, racing and social events, and there is no pressure to do any more than you feel capable of doing. There is, however, lots of encouragement from like-minded people who understand the joys and pains of running.
How much does it cost? The annual membership is £20 (£10 for juniors) plus an optional £14 membership fee for England Athletics, but your first run with us is free to check us out and make sure the club is for you. The club membership fee includes our organised running sessions and advice, entry to the local CC6/RR10 races, and provides discounts of 10% off merchandise at selected running shops. The England Athletics membership provides you with discounted race entries for events all over the country, and free entry to the Hampshire Road Race and Cross-Country Leagues.
What should I wear? Arrive dressed to run. You are requested to wear reflective articles of clothing during the winter months for your own safety, and headtorches can be very helpful – take a look at our Kit for items you can purchase through the club.
What do I do next? Come and join us for a few evenings to find out more. Once you’ve decided you would like to join you can talk to our membership secretary at one of our club nights to find out how to join. You can also join online.
Where do I go? We meet two evenings a week at 6:20 for a 6:30 start. On Monday nights we meet at Woodley Village Hall. On Thursday nights we meet at the Sports Centre next to the Romsey Rapids (September to April) and at the Mountbatten School track (summer months).
Hope to see you soon!
